Deacon John A. Martino was ordained June 10, 2006, for the Diocese of Charlotte. He was first assigned to our Lady of Angels Church in Marion and to Catholic Charities.

Now a deacon at St. Charles, John is active in prison ministry, nursing home, and homebound ministries, and volunteers as a hospital chaplain three days a month. He was named Director of the Permanent Deaconate in 2016.

Residents of Morganton, John and his wife, Terri, have three children and 6 grandchildren.
